Issues Discovered Thus Far
As we reach the end of the season, I wanted to go through my thoughts on what could have been improved. Firstly, the corn needed to go in 2-3 months prior to when it did. Secondly, the squash should have also gone in about 1 month earlier than it did. This would have ensured proper soil coverage at the right time, more fruit, a better support system for the beans, and access to the fixated nitrogen during fruiting. I also believe that better keeping up with our harvest, providing further irrigation (which we adjusted during the season) that better fits our system, creating task lists for each team member so that there is proper communication and delegation, and providing a mid-season nutrient boost are all practices which could have improved our overall success.
